During the summer, a five (5) week residential program is offered designed to simulate the experience of attending college. The summer program focuses on academics and counseling activities. The instructional program allows students to take academic courses in areas of English, mathematics, chemistry, physics, computer science, and Spanish. Other activities include fine arts, sports, field trips, and group activities. Additionally, high school junior of the program may take college level courses for credit. The Summer Residential Program gives students the opportunity to live in the residential halls at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus during the summer. Students will also:
- Take academic courses including SAT or ACT prep, math, and science
- Receive academic advising
- Participate in lectures and seminars on different social and cultural issues
- Participate in community service
- Have the opportunity to take dual enrollment courses
All Summer Residential Program applicants must have applied to the Upward Bound year-round program before applying to the summer program.
