FIU’s Upward Bound program is a federal TRIO program designed for students who desire to attend college. The program support students with academic potential who need additional preparation and motivation to succeed in high school and build a strong foundation for college success. The program provides on-going academic preparation, college prep advising, and life-skill activities. Students may apply to the program as early as the end of their 8th grade year. Once students are a part of the program, they are a participant until they graduate from high school. - Weekly in-person tutoring at FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique campus & virtual tutoring
- Saturday Academy (transportation to and from several of our target schools – lunch is provided)
- Assistance on test preparation
- College workshops and college access advising
- Individualized personal and academic counseling
- Career and college exploration
- Test and college application fee waivers
- Assistance with securing scholarships
- Community Service
