The FIU Educational Talent Search Program has an on-going application and selection process. Priority participation in the program is granted to applicants that meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled at one of the target schools:
- John F. Kennedy Middle School
- North Dade Middle School
- Norland Middle School
- North Miami Middle School
- Miami Central Senior High School
- North Miami Beach Senior High School
- North Miami Senior High School
- Be a first-generation student or qualify for free and reduced lunch (click here for criteria)
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident
- Enrolled in 6th – 12th grade
- Between the ages of 11 – 27
- Demonstrate academic potential and a desire to attend a post-secondary institution
How To Become an FIU ETS Student:
Step 1: Complete the online application: Our online application is open at all times. Once you complete this application, an ETS staff member will review it and contact you via phone call with an overview of the next steps.
Step 2: If you need to complete any additional forms – Please reference our “Important Forms” tab
Step 3: Once you’re an ETS students you may attend our Saturday Academy sessions, field trips, tutoring sessions, and Summer Bootcamp.

- Our Saturday Academy Schedule for Fall and Spring is sent out via newsletter – No additional application is needed
- Our Summer bootcamp has limited seats and requires an additional application found under the “ETS Summer Application” tab
