Educational Talent Search

Educational Talent Search (ETS) is a federally funded TRIO program derived from the Higher Education Act of 1965 that seeks to assist low-income, first generation students attain their goal of post-secondary education. FIU has been a host institution for Educational Talent Search since 2002 and served the students of Miami-Dade County.

FIU’s Educational Talent Search Program is designed for middle and high school students with academic potential who are interested in reaching their academic and career goals. The program provides on-going academic preparation, counseling, and enrichment activities. Students may participate in the program from the time they are enrolled in the fall of their sixth grade (6th grade) until they enter their first year of college. Program Description

The Talent Search program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education. FIU has been a host institution for Educational Talent Search since 2002 and served the students of Miami-Dade County.
