BENEFITS & ELIGIBILITY
[two_third]The Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship program provides the following benefits:
- A $30,000 stipend and funds for the first two years of graduate studies including tuition and travel.
- Ensures state-of-the-art thesis/dissertation research training for its fellows.
- Provides structured professional development activities that results in a cohesive and supportive “like-minded” community.
- Educates fellows for the global STEM workforce by facilitating both national lab and international research experiences.
- Engages fellows in K-12 outreach and near-peer mentoring of LSAMP undergraduates that will enable them to inspire the next generation of minority scientists and engineers.
To qualify, students must:
- Have earned a BS degree in a STEM discipline
- Have participated in an LSAMP or AMP program
- Is U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Have a minimum of a 3.0 undergraduate GPA
- Have been admitted into an FIU STEM graduate program (College of Arts & Sciences, Engineering & Computing, etc.)
